How does Platon InSense™ work?
The objective is to provide an easy to use tool for analyzing and reporting typical infrastructure and ILM issues such as storage cost, usage, forecasts, utilization, archiving, and compliance to information policies or legislation.
The basis for Platon InSense™ is data collected from clients IT infrastructure(s) using software crawlers or clients own tools. The Platon scanning process is easily setup and executed by clients themselves or by Platon Infrastructure. The data is delivered to Platon and loaded into Platon InSense™, and thereby made available for consultants and clients to immediately analyze and report. The Platon InSense™ solution is unique as it contains the full history of the scanned meta data, allowing users to analyze in completely new dimensions.

What do we scan (when data is not available from clients own tools):
- All servers in the Active Directory in the windows environment
- Any file visible in the windows environment
- We can specifically scan inside SQL Servers and upon request inside SharePoint and Exchange.
- Mainframe, AS400 and alike are not scanned.
- We customize /develop scanning services if/when relevant
