Strong growth and a record year in spite of the financial crisis

Establishments in new markets, several new and experienced employees as well as increased profit characterized the 2008 result which again set new standards for Platon.
Increased activities both in Denmark and abroad resulted in improved key figures and are the main reasons why Platon, again in 2008, presented a record result. An increase in revenue of 25% and in profit of 40% made 2008 the best year ever for Platon in terms of results.

We are very satisfied with the progress, and although a general financial recession in the world economy seems to mark 2009, we still experience great interest in our consulting services directed at improving companies’ basis for decision and optimizing their processes” says Michael Borges, CEO of Platon, an independent consultancy within Information Management through e.g. Business Intelligence, Performance Management, Master Data Management and Data Warehousing.

Profitable growth
In 2008 revenue totaled DKK 166 million, up DKK 33 million on 2007, and net profit increased by 40% to DKK 4.9 million from DKK 3.5 in 2007. The progress in 2008 has been achieved concurrently with the establishment of subsidiaries in Australia, the USA and the United Kingdom. During 2008 the number of employees thus also increased from approx. 150 to more than 200 employees.

It is obviously an organizational challenge to experience the high growth that Platon has, especially in the light of the concurrent significant expansion abroad. Therefore, it is even more satisfying that we are able to increase profit in a year of strong growth, establishment of three new subsidiaries and a significant increase in the number of employees. The employees have done an excellent job, the establishments abroad have been successful and we are ready for continuous growth”, says Michael Borges.

Positive expectations for 2009
In the first months of 2009, the development in Platon’s various business areas has proven positive and satisfying, which is also the case for the development on the Danish and the international markets. Thus, an increased activity level with a growth in revenue of minimum 25% and an increase in the net profit of minimum 30% are expected in 2009. As a consequence of the increased activity level, a growth in the number of employees of approx. 50 persons is also expected in 2009.

We believe that the types of consulting services that Platon offers are not severely hit in times of crisis. On the contrary, companies will to a great extent focus on ensuring optimal decisions and processes”, says Michael Borges.
